Title IX Training for Students

• What is the Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates Training?

  Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates is an online student training program which focuses on sexual harassment and other forms of sexual violence prohibited under Title IX by University policy and Federal law. This training provides information on fostering healthy relationships and preparing students to recognize and respond to sexual assault and harassment when it occurs. The training also details key Title IX policy and resource information, and is a means to reflect on the role each of us plays in cultivating a culture of respect at WSU.

• Why was this training created?

  WSU is committed to providing a caring, supportive, and safe campus, so we’ve partnered with Vector Solutions, an online education provider, to educate members of the university community about issues that may impact each one of us.

  In providing this training, our central goals include:

  • Advising Warriors of the many resources available on campus and in the local community.
  • Educating Warriors about key university policies that are essential to our collective success and safety.
  • Providing Warriors a means to reflect on the role each of us plays in promoting a healthier campus environment and a culture of respect at WSU.
• Am I required to complete the training?

  All Warriors are strongly encouraged to complete the training modules during, or prior to, their first semester at WSU. Completing the course will provide you a greater awareness of how you can help cultivate a campus culture that is even more welcoming, inclusive, and safe for everyone.

• Are my responses anonymous?​

  Yes, in order to encourage sincere introspection, individual responses are completely confidential. WSU will receive notification that you have completed the training. However, your responses will not be associated with any personally identifiable information.

• How do I access the training?

• How long will it take to complete the training?

  The full course takes about 75 minutes to complete, but course progress is automatically saved, so you can complete the training in multiple sessions if necessary.

• Do I still need to complete the training if I have previously completed a similar training?

  Yes. Our training program is updated on an ongoing basis as laws change and University policies evolve. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the course annually in order to keep up-to-date on current policies, regulations, and information regarding the support and resources available to members of our campus community.

• What if I am unable to complete the program?

  If you are unable to complete the modules, please email TitleIX@wayne.edu with your individual circumstance or concern(s).

• I’m a survivor of sexual violence/an abusive relationship, and I’m concerned that the training will be triggering for me.  Do I have to complete it?

  Your safety and wellbeing are our priority. If you are concerned that the modules might be a difficult experience for you, please email TitleIX@wayne.edu for assistance.  If you would like confidential emotional support regarding the content of the modules, please contact the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) at 1-800-656-4673 or Counseling and Psychological Services at 313-577-3398.

• What will happen if I don’t complete the training?

  You’ll miss out on important information that all Warriors need to know including:

  • How you can take an active role in increasing the safety and security of yourself and others on campus.
  • The policies outlining the behavioral expectations required of all members of our campus community.
  • Where to go for support and assistance for various situations that may arise throughout one’s college experience.
