Title IX Training for Faculty and Staff

• What is the Title IX Training Module for Faculty and Staff?

  The Title IX Training Module for Faculty and Staff is an interactive online education program available to WSU employees that provides information about reporting sexual harassment and sexual violence in accord with the requirements of Title IX.

• Why was this training created?

  Knowledgeable faculty, staff and students are key to preventing and appropriately addressing sexual misconduct in our campus community.  In providing this training program, our central goals include:

  • Developing a shared language around terms related to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and consent.
  • Educating faculty and staff about key university policies that are essential to the success and safety of all members of our campus community.
  • Providing faculty and staff with guidance related to their responsibilities as mandatory reporters and the requirements of the university under Title IX.
• How do I access the training?

  Click here to access the module on Canvas:  go.wayne.edu/titleixtraining.

  If you do not have access to Canvas, you can log in with your WSU AccessID and password at the following link: Meridians. Then, check the box next to "Meridians Title IX Training for Employees," and click Add to begin the module.

• Am I required to complete the training?

  All WSU employees are strongly encouraged to complete the interactive training module biannually. Faculty and staff who complete the training will have a greater awareness of how they can help to create a campus culture that is even more welcoming, inclusive, and safe for all.

• Are my responses anonymous?​

  Yes, in order to encourage sincere introspection, individual responses are completely confidential. WSU will receive notification that you have completed the training. However, your responses will not be associated with any personally identifiable information.

• How long will it take to complete the training?

  The full course takes about 30 minutes to complete, but course progress is automatically saved, so you can complete the training in multiple sessions if necessary.

• Do I still need to complete the Title IX Training Module for Faculty and Staff if I have previously completed a similar training?

  Yes. Our training program is updated on an ongoing basis as laws change and University policies evolve. Employees are strongly encouraged to complete the course annually in order to keep up-to-date on current policies, regulations, and information regarding the support and resources available to members of our campus community.

• I’m a survivor of sexual violence/an abusive relationship, and I’m concerned that the training will be triggering for me.  Do I have to complete it?

  Your safety and wellbeing are our priority.
